Spray Sealant vs Ceramic Spray Coating

Posted by Aqualux Detail Supply on 20th Oct 2026

A traditional ceramic coating is wiped into the paint, leveled and left to cure. That is a big commitment and the wrong first purchase if you have not protected paint before. A spray goes on with a bottle and a towel in a few minutes per panel. Our sprays use silicon carbide (SiC) chemistry rather than a standard SiO₂ formula.

Two sprays, two jobs

  • VITRIFY MAX is an SiC-advanced ceramic spray coating. Paint, glass, plastic trim and wheels in one spray-and-wipe step, with no flash time.
  • Katch 22 is an SiC spray sealant for paint. It works as standalone protection or as a topper over a coating you already have.

Buy a spray if

  • You want protection this weekend without a cure window.
  • You are maintaining a coating you already have.
  • You do not want to risk high spots from leveling a coating.

Wash either one the same way

Use AQUA-SUDS, a pH-neutral (7.0) soap, at 1 to 2 ounces per 3 to 4 gallon bucket. A harsh degreaser is what strips protection, not a proper maintenance wash.

We do not put a time figure on protection. Results depend on surface prep, climate, driving and wash habits. Reapply when the beading drops off.
