Twisted-Loop Drying Towels & Buffing Towels

Two jobs, two towels. The SLURPY line is for drying. The Swiss 16×16 buffs spray and sealant residue clear. We keep them separate in our pro detailing studio, and you should too: do not buff with your drying towel.

How to choose

  • Car or small SUV: SLURPY 20×30. Wring it into a bucket between panels.
  • Truck or full-size SUV: SLURPY MAXX 26×34, more towel per lay and less wringing.
  • Buffing any spray protection: The Swiss. Fold in quarters for eight clean faces and switch faces as soon as one feels loaded.
  • Care: wash microfiber separately from cotton, no fabric softener, no bleach, tumble dry low or air dry.

Questions detailers ask

Which towel do I dry with?

The SLURPY 20×30 (1600 GSM twisted loop) for cars, or the SLURPY MAXX 26×34 (1700 GSM) for trucks, SUVs and full-size vehicles.

Which towel do I buff with?

The Swiss 16×16 (350 GSM, 80/20, ten to a pack). It buffs sprays, sealants and wax off the paint. It is not a drying towel.

What does GSM mean on a towel?

Grams per square meter. Higher GSM is a denser, thirstier towel, which is why the drying towels are 1600 and 1700 GSM and the buffing towel is 350.

How do I wash microfiber?

Separately from cotton. No fabric softener, no bleach. Tumble dry on low heat or air dry.

Microfiber performance depends on care. Softener clogs twisted loops.
