Most ceramic sprays are built on silicon dioxide (SiO₂). VITRIFY MAX is built on silicon carbide (SiC) chemistry instead. You still apply it the same simple way: spray, spread, buff. The difference is the chemistry in the bottle, not the work it takes.

I put the original Vitrify on my daily driver about two years ago and it held up through rain, road salt, and weekly washes. When Aqualux said Max would last 24 to 36 months I believed them based on my experience. Applied Max to my truck in January and so far the water behavior has been flawless. Beading is tight and consistent across every panel. I will update this review at the six month mark but so far it is exceeding expectations.

I know this is marketed for cars but I figured I would try it on my boat gel coat. Applied two coats of Vitrify Max to the hull and the water just sheets right off now. Salt spray used to leave spots everywhere but now it rinses clean with a hose. The gel coat looks brand new. If it holds up through the summer I will be a customer for life. Great product and great customer service when I called with questions.
I am not a professional detailer. I am a regular guy who wants his truck to look good without spending four hours in the garage. I was skeptical about the claim that you can apply this in direct sunlight. Every coating I have ever used required shade or a garage. Tested it on my hood at noon on a clear day just to see what would happen. Zero streaking. Zero flash issues. It leveled out perfectly and the gloss was immediate. I went ahead and did the rest of the car. Honestly impressed. This is the easiest coating I have ever applied.
