Protocol

How we run it in the bay.

Diminishing abrasives. Clean finish. A fine-cut, high-gloss finishing polish for light swirls, fine scratches, oxidation and 2000 to 2500 grit sanding marks. Low-dusting.

  • One-step finishing. Built for light defects in a single polish.
  • Low dust. Formulated for a clean work area.
  • Coating prep. Leaves paint ready for wax, sealant or SiC protection.

Why we run it in our Texas studio

Protection sits on whatever is underneath it. This is the polish we finish with before Katch 22 or VITRIFY MAX goes on.

The Shop Protocol

  1. Prime the pad. On a DA or rotary with a foam pad (we use the Aqua Buff Orange 5-inch), apply 4 to 5 drops.
  2. Work a section. 2 × 2 ft at a time with slow, overlapping passes. Keep the panel cool.
  3. Wipe and inspect. Remove residue with a clean face of The Swiss 16×16 10-Pack.
  4. Protect. Follow with Katch 22 or VITRIFY MAX.

Always test in an inconspicuous area first and follow the stated dilution and dwell times.

Straight answers

Questions detailers ask.

Still stuck? Email info@aqualuxdetail.store. A detailer answers.

Is Finishing Polish a one-step polish?

Yes, for light defects. It is built as a one-step finishing polish. Heavier defects need more cut first.

Can I use Finishing Polish in the sun?

We polish in the shade on cool panels. Heat makes any polish harder to work and harder to wipe off.

What machine do I need for Finishing Polish?

A dual-action or rotary polisher with a foam finishing or polishing pad.

Is Finishing Polish safe on boats?

It is safe on gloss paint, clear coats and gel coats.

    Applied to my RV

Posted by Allan S. on 1st Feb 2026

Used three bottles on my 32-foot RV. The gel coat looks incredible and washing it is so much easier now. Water sheets off the sides and dirt doesn't stick like it used to. Saved me hours of scrubbing. Great product for large vehicles.

    Long working time

Posted by Diana L. on 26th Jan 2026

The working time on this polish is generous. It doesn't dry out on the pad or flash too quickly. I can work a full panel without rushing. That makes a big difference in the final result, especially for someone who's still learning.

Preps the paint perfectly for coating

Posted by Connor B. on 25th Dec 2025

I use this as my final polishing step before applying AQUASiC MAX. It leaves the paint perfectly clean and smooth for the coating to bond to. The two products work great together. Smart to buy from the same brand.

Removed swirl marks like a champ

Posted by Rick T. on 17th Nov 2025

My black car was covered in swirl marks from bad wash technique. One pass with this polish on a DA polisher and the swirls were gone. The finish was clear and glossy. Didn't need to follow up with a finer polish — this one did the job in one step.

    Great all-in-one polish

Posted by Sandra M. on 27th Oct 2025

This works as both a compound and a polish depending on the pad you use. On a cutting pad it removes scratches, on a finishing pad it refines to a mirror finish. Versatile product that replaced two bottles in my kit.

    Works great by hand too

Posted by Patricia D. on 13th Sep 2025

I don't have a polisher so I applied this by hand with a foam applicator. It took more effort but the results were still impressive. Removed light scratches and left a smooth, glossy finish. Not everyone has a DA — nice that this works both ways.

    No dusting

Posted by Liam K. on 27th Aug 2025

My biggest complaint with other polishes is the dust they create. This one has zero dust. Clean to work with, easy to wipe off, and the results are excellent. My garage stays clean and my paint looks perfect.

    Perfect

Posted by Terry on 15th Apr 2025

These are my go to pads, they're durable, cut great and definitely a work horse in my polishing arsenal. Pair this pad and with aqualux polish and you'll have a REALLY good one step polishing combo!
