Protocol

How we run it in the bay.

A firm block for controlled, even coverage. Dense closed-cell foam that holds its shape and barely absorbs product.

  • Minimal absorption. Less product wasted in the pad.
  • Firm and responsive. Holds its shape for controlled passes.
  • Multi-surface. Safe on clear coat, glass and plastic trim.

Why we run it in our Texas studio

Trim products and sealants go on thin and even with a firm block. We wrap it in microsuede when we need it for coatings.

The Shop Protocol

  1. Prep. Clean and fully dry the surface.
  2. Load lightly. A small amount of Trim Lock or sealant on the block.
  3. Apply. Wipe evenly in overlapping passes. For Trim Lock, let it soak in about 5 minutes before the next step.
  4. Knock down. Wipe off remaining excess with The Swiss 16×16 10-Pack.

Rinse after use and wash with your microfiber: no fabric softener, no bleach.

    Replaced my Amazon microfibers

Posted by Tony S. on 7th Feb 2026

Used to buy the 50-pack microfibers from Amazon. These are significantly better quality — softer, more absorbent, and they don't leave lint. Worth paying a bit more for towels that actually work.

    Cheap and effective

Posted by Steve J. on 25th Jan 2026

At this price, these are disposable and I don't feel bad tossing them after a few uses. They do the job well — even application of dressings, sealants, and trim restorer. No need to overthink it.

    Works for interior dressing too

Posted by Linda W. on 23rd Jan 2026

I use these to apply interior dressing to my dash and door panels. The foam spreads product evenly without leaving streaks or globs. Much better than using a rag or paper towel.

    Great for tire dressing

Posted by Gary P. on 4th Jan 2026

These foam applicators are perfect for applying tire dressing evenly. The foam is dense enough to hold product without dripping but soft enough to spread it smoothly. I go through a few a month and always keep extras on hand.

    Essential accessory

Posted by Brian H. on 25th Nov 2025

Every order I place with Aqualux, I throw a few of these in the cart. They're cheap, they work, and you can never have too many applicators. Simple product that does its job well.

    Good density

Posted by Karen M. on 4th Oct 2025

The foam density is just right. Not too soft that it falls apart, not too firm that it doesn't absorb product. Goldilocks zone for an applicator pad. Works well with all the Aqualux products I've tried.
