Katch 22 vs VITRIFY MAX vs Unicorn Dust

Posted by Aqualux Detail Supply on 20th Oct 2026

These are three different sprays from our Protection Chemistry line. All three go on with a bottle and a towel. None of them needs a multi-hour install, leveling or a cure window. What changes is the chemistry and the job each one does.

The short answer

Buy VITRIFY MAX if you want our flagship SiC protection. It is an SiC-advanced ceramic spray coating, and it goes on paint, glass, plastic trim and wheels in one spray-and-wipe step. Buy Katch 22 if you want an everyday SiC spray sealant for paint that also goes over a coating you already have. Use Unicorn Dust when you want one SiC-infused spray sealant for paint, glass, chrome and trim. It works on its own or over the other two.

How we apply all three

  1. Wash with AQUA-SUDS and dry with the SLURPY 20×30.
  2. Work in the shade on panels that are cool to the touch. In Texas sun that is not optional.
  3. Mist one panel, or the Microsuede Applicator, and spread it thin.
  4. Buff clear with a clean face of The Swiss 16×16. Do not buff with your drying towel.

We do not put a time figure on protection. Results depend on surface prep, climate, driving and wash habits. Reapply when the beading drops off.
