Protocol

How we run it in the bay.

Your mix. Your finish. Tire Shine is a 16 oz water-based dressing concentrate for tires, interior plastics and exterior plastics and trim. Use it straight for more shine, or dilute up to 4:1 with water for a lighter, cleaner look. At 4:1, one bottle makes about 80 oz. The power is in your hands.

  • You set the strength. Straight, 4:1, or anywhere in between. More product for more shine, more water for a lighter, cleaner look.
  • One bottle, three jobs. Tires, interior plastics and exterior plastics and trim.
  • Water-based concentrate. Mix up to 4 parts water to 1 part product. One 16 oz bottle makes about 80 oz.

Mix it your way

There is no single right ratio. Start lighter, check the look, and add more product to the mix until it is where you want it.

One bottle, three jobs

Tire sidewalls, interior plastics like the dash and door panels, and exterior plastics and trim. Clean the dash first with Pure Interior Cleaner, then dress it with a light mix.

The Shop Protocol

  1. Clean and dry. Clean the surface and let it dry completely. Dressing goes on clean, dry tires and plastics.
  2. Shake and mix. Shake the bottle well. To dilute, mix anywhere from straight up to 4 parts water to 1 part product in a separate bottle and shake that too.
  3. Pour onto a pad. Pour a small amount onto a Foam Applicator, not straight onto the surface.
  4. Wipe it on. Wipe an even coat onto the tire sidewall or plastic. Wipe off anything that lands on paint, glass or tire tread.
  5. Let it set. Give it time to set before you drive or use the vehicle.
  6. Cap it. Screw the cap on tightly when you are done.

Dressing or coating?

Tire Shine is a dressing. You wipe it on at the strength you like and refresh it when you want the look back. Trim Lock is a trim coating, a separate step for faded exterior plastic. Read the full comparison in Trim Coating vs Trim Dressing.

Always test in an inconspicuous area first. Keep it off tire tread, brake parts, pedals and anything you grip or stand on, like the steering wheel, shifter and floor mats.

Straight answers

Questions detailers ask.

Still stuck? Email info@aqualuxdetail.store. A detailer answers.

Do I have to dilute it?

No. Use it straight, dilute it up to 4:1 (water to product), or anything in between. More product gives more shine, more water gives a lighter look. At 4:1, one bottle makes about 80 oz.

Can I use it on interior plastics?

Yes. It works on interior plastics like the dash and door panels. Many people run it lighter inside. Keep it off the steering wheel, shifter, pedals and floor mats.

Can I use it on exterior trim?

Yes. Wipe it onto clean, dry exterior plastics and trim at whatever strength gives you the look you want.

How do I apply it?

Shake it, pour a small amount onto an applicator pad and wipe it onto a clean, dry surface. Let it set, then cap the bottle tightly.

Is it water-based?

Yes. Tire Shine is a water-based dressing concentrate.

Does it come with a sprayer?

No. It comes in a 16 oz bottle with a screw cap. Pour a small amount onto an applicator pad and wipe it on.

Can I put it on the tread?

No. Keep it on the sidewall and wipe off anything that gets on the tread.

How much does one bottle make?

About 80 oz ready to use at 4:1 (water to product).

Is Tire Shine a trim coating?

No. Tire Shine is a dressing you refresh when you want the look back. Trim Lock is our trim coating for faded exterior plastic.

Glossy or satin?

You choose by the mix. Straight gives the most shine. More water gives a lighter, cleaner, more natural look.
